Junior Cat- come thru Junior Cat was born in the Sieve Wright garden community of Kingston, Ja. Otherwise known as Cockburn Pen. Before he became the sensation that he is, he was another average ghetto youth with dreams of one day making it big. Going under the name Mr. Docs, he started dee-jaying at school talent shows and neighborhood dances with sounds like Crystal Blue and Soul Imperial. Before long Docs was traveling throughout the island mashing up various venues. With his warm tone, easy skanking and his charisma made him a crowd favorite. One night while dee-jaying on a sound named Cosmic Force in Clarendon, another artiste working that night thought that Docs sounded too much like Super Cat to be true so he crowned Docs Junior Cat. That artiste was the roughneck chicken himself Junior Demus. Later Demus found out that Junior Cats sound and resemblance to Super Cat was rightfully earned be he is Cats younger brother. Junior Cat continued to work on the sound systems moving up the ranks to the legendary sounds like Jack Ruby and the mighty Killamanjaro were he worked alongside ace selectors Jeremy Lee and Ainsley and artiste such as Puddy Roots, Ninja Man, Joe Lickshot Professor Nuts and the late great Early B. Now Junior Cat was rapidly on his way to stardom but he still hadnt recorded any tracks yet, so together with the King Jammys crew he recorded Never Dis The Program, which took the number 3 position on the national charts. Over the years more hits followed, Iron Gloves and Old Bruck which lead to the recording of Junior Cats first LP Top Dog in 1992. Junior Cat one of dancehalls most prolific deejays in the late 80s through the mid 90s reigned with a lethal onslaught of bad boy anthems made him a commodity to other producers and resulted in many works with Bobby Digital Dixon, the son of King Jammys John-John and of course his brothers label Wild Apache. In 1994 Junior Cat put together some tracks for the Wild Apache record label and later the two Cats teamed up with the two Demus, Nicodemus and Junior Demus and recorded The Good, The Bad The Ugly & The Crazy. At this current time Junior Cat is in the studio not only as an artiste but as a producer captaining his own record label Mr. Maragh Music to higher heights. Mr. Docs alias Junior Cat is one of dancehalls true legends which places him in constant demand not only by promoters but sound system owners and selectors.
