Use Vista ReadyBoost To Speed Up Your PC

Duration: 3:48

One of the cool new ways to boost performance with Vista is to use ReadyBoost, which allows you to use a flash drive ( USB Pen, SD, etc...) to boost your system's RAM. ReadyBoost improves performance several ways: It increases the size of Windows Vista's normal prefetch cache, so more data can be stored there. Data can be retrieved more quickly from a flash drive than a hard disk, and so commonly used data and programs will run more quickly when you use ReadyBoost. In addition, ReadyBoost frees up RAM that would otherwise be used by prefetch. Depending on your system configuration, you may see a dramatic speed improvement. When such a device is plugged in, the Windows Autoplay dialog offers an additional option to use it to speed up the system; an additional Memory tab is added to the drive's properties dialog where the amount of space to be used can be configured. www.TheVistaTech.com
